The Origin of KinByte Labs
Born at the intersection of story and system - KinByte Labs is the narrative and systems architecture studio behind the KIMPUTER / KAIPUTER story universe and a growing body of real-world governance frameworks. Founded by Narrative Systems Architect Kimberly Montgomery, the lab develops intellectual property that moves fluidly between speculative fiction and applied systems design.
What begins as story is intentionally pressure-tested into structure. KinByte Labs serves as the originating imprint for KinByte Books, while also housing public frameworks such as FOWAKAM™ and the NH Green Innovation Corridor—ensuring that narrative, ethics, and implementation remain tightly coupled rather than siloed.
KinByte Labs is the parent imprint for KinByte Books, where narrative systems research is published through fiction, nonfiction, and experimental formats.
What We Build
KinByte Labs develops narrative universes, ethical technology frameworks, and human-centered operating models. Our work includes speculative fiction and story-driven research published through KinByte Books, alongside applied systems frameworks designed for real-world governance, infrastructure, and long-term public use.
These efforts support initiatives ranging from ethical AI and narrative accountability to large-scale frameworks such as FOWAKAM™ and the NH Green Innovation Corridor, where story-informed design principles are translated into durable systems.
Kimberly Montgomery is a Narrative Systems Architect and founder of KinByte Labs, where she leads the development of narrative-driven intellectual property, ethical systems frameworks, and long-term public models. Her work spans narrative architecture, applied ethics, and systems design, with a focus on building structures that remain legible, accountable, and human-centered over time.
Research Entity: KAI
KinByte Labs also explores non-human system perspectives through controlled narrative research, including KAI, a conceptual recursion entity used to model memory, language, and identity across time. Elements of this research are explored publicly through KinByte’s narrative works, where system perspectives are examined through fiction rather than deployment.
MISSION STATEMENT
We believe technology should remain accountable to the people who live inside it. KinByte Labs advocates for ethical code, transparent systems, and human-aware design—where progress is measured not only by capability, but by care, continuity, and long-term impact.
